sox and patriots glue get blamed for everything and might as well get credit for what goes right as governor. >> reporter: the romney campaign needs a lot to go right today. latest poll shows president obama leading among people who voted early. so the romney campaign must make up that difference today. president obama is keeping his election day tradition of shooting hoops after doing a few satellite interviews in swing states. last night the president was teary eyed in the -- ending the campaign in the state that started it all. >> i've come back to iowa one more time to ask for your vote. >> reporter: today is all about turnout republicans the romney campaign thinks republicans are more enthusiastic and more likely to vote than president obama supporters. reporting live, abc news. now back to you. >> a special election was held middle school students at a charter school in hamilton have been studying the issues and debating and then voting.

weneed to bundle up. >> you need to bundle up and i am talking about have the hat on and gloves on and it's coal. freeze warnings to talk b so let's talk about the temperature in and a -- about. so let's talk about the temperature if annapolis at 35. clarksville at 28. so we are below freezing across the area. don't be surprised if you see a little patchy fog across the area with the dew point coming in the same temperature as the actual temperature. now 27 degrees in westminster with the dew point coming in at 23. we are bone dry. these dew points going to be playing a role in the nor'easter that's going to be coming into town tomorrow. and here's freeze warning i am talking about. you can see it for the areas shaded in the purple color. eastern shore like pretty good. but still feeling cold because you are not at freezing or below doesn't mean that you are out of the woods. as we look at maryland's most powerful radar, we are seeing dry conditions right now. this is good. get out and run errands and do what you have to do and clean up from sandy. and it's going to be good day to do that but whatever you do

outdoors you are going to need to have the heavy coat. this is what the planner looks like. still quite cold at 8. even at lunchtime the temperature only at 45 degrees. our high temperature coming in at 47. for this time of the year we should be at 60 degrees so we are going to stay well below that for today. let's check the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook good morning. >> reporter: good morning. pretty chilly start but fortunately not much traffic to contend with this election day. 95 in white marsh is going to be in great shape. that is 15 minute ride traveling southbound from 695 all the way into the city. and for those of you using 83 this morning, no problems heading downtown. it's going to be delay free just 11 minutes to travel southbound from towson to fayette street. and as far as baltimore county is concerned, we are dealing with a crash in wood lawn on rolling road. that's going to be right nearcrosby and you are looking live at the west side of the beltway. liberty road traffic moving right along there no delays on the outer loop heading down to route 40.

and the inner loop will be clear through pikesville. here's what the beltway looks like in parkville. no problems on the inner loop towards 95. and outer loop congest a little bit. but that will very well dissipate as you make the drive up towards providence road and head up to 83678 that's traffic megan and charley over to you. it's election day and marylanders head to the polls and they have important issues to decide. >> question 6 for example that's whether or not to allow same sex marriage in the state of maryland. if it passes it will make history. >> sherrie johnson is here with details of what could be landmarking legislation. sherrie. >> reporter: well in a few minutes voters will head to the polls and cast their ballots on the ballot question number 6 tackles the issue of same sex marriage. maryland could become first state to legalize same sex marriage through a ballot referendum inform it passes. emotions are high on both sides and we caught up with folks during an all night prayer service. the bishop educated his parishioners and urging them to

vote against question 6. opponents of question 6 say they collected more than double the number of signatures required to push it to a referendum. governor o'malley says granting same sex couples a marriage license is a civil right and marylanders should vote yes. it allows lurnlgy to on the out of marrying same sex couples. >> we can't take the beliefs and practices of a few people and push that over on the majority and say this is the way we should change and redefine something so foundational like marriage. >> we are going to reject thehorrific lies and scare tactics that our opposition pushes on the voters election after election. >> reporter: now voters appear split on the issue that has the nation watching maryland. if passed it would make maryland the 7th state in addition to the district of columbia to approve marriage equality. polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 tonight.

hamilton county is more than likely to take ohio. i have been in cleveland and voting weather is expected to be rate. no rain in the forecast. temperature wise mid-40s ohio is the state to watch in this presidential election. many people are talking about it. mitt romney and paul ryan by the way this will campaign in cleveland later on today. i am katy johnson reporting from palm beach county florida where the lines could be very long throughout the day at precincts like the one you see behind me as they have been for the past week during early voting. now election supervisors throughout the five county regions are hoping for few if any problems today. the polls close here at 7 p.m. eastern time. >> i am laura hairis in largo inpinallas county and there's been an amazing early voter turn out 20,000 people voted early last week. 177,000 people voted by mail and i can tell you we are expecting long lines still out

here. still very early but 7:00 the polls open. that i voted sticker is what everybody is look for. we are expecting long lines but we will continue to keep in touch with the supervisor of elections office and keep you up-to-date as we watch carefully the polls today in florida. >> here in colorado the polls open at 7 a.m. so far 1.7 million people aretaken part in early voting and the secretary of state believes that's 25% to vote today on election day. now republicans outweighed democrats in the early voting four years ago that was reversed. more democrats than republicans. how popular is colorado this time around? over the last four days we have seen visits from every one president obama, vice president biden and governor romney and paul ryan. we are going to monitor for election fraud any kind of election concerns once the polls open at 7 a.m. and we will update the concerns throughout election day. in denver, marshal zellinger.

also thursday, we can see the storm getting its act together down to the south she here. this will move off the coast of the carolinas and slide up the coast off the mid atlantic and we are going to be seeing that and feeling the effects of that as we go into tomorrow. so let me show you what's going on with the nor'easter impact. we will be dealing with some wendy conditions and also some rain and possibly some snow as we go into time. so i am thinking overnight in to wednesday, thursday morning along the eastern shore we could be seeing some snow across the area. very light in nature and maybe a few wet fat snowflakes flying around our heads in baltimore. and places to the south of that and also back off towards the west. but all in all, we basically will be dealing with rainy and windy conditions and the reason why is well this nor'easter the center of it will stay well-off into the atlantic was a good thing for us. if it was closer to the shore then we would be feeling more of the impacts but since it's going to be well-off the coastline things look better

for us and we can see snow again along the eastern shore so don't be surprised for that. look at dundalk right now this morning. we are seeing a mixture of sun and clouds out there. more of the same in kent island. and we are looking at temperatures that are very cold this morning. make sure to bundle up. the 20s as we head throughout the day, temperatures coming in at 47 degrees. that's the high. and the 7-day forecast though has improvement as we head into the weekend. 60 degrees by sunday. let's check the traffic with lauren cook good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we are following breaking news this morning in fells point a four alarm fire on south broadway in the 500 block and will be shut down at eastern avenue. i spoke with the fire department who confrms no one has been injured but a -- confirms no one has been injured. we are dealing with a crash right now in wood lawn on rolling road that's at crosby road. and heading to the west side of the beltway, a live look now at liberty road traffic is moving right along easy.
